What other Premier League players would fit into the Real squad?
With Gareth Bale’s move now complete, we take a look at the possibility of any other British players that could potentially be a great addition to the Real squad within the near future. Some may be unlikely, or matter of personal opinion, however we would love to hear your thoughts on which British players you would love to see at Madrid.
Wayne Rooney has shown his desire to leave for Manchester United, the club he joined 10 years ago at the age of 18 for a huge fee of £25.6 million. Seen as possibly the best England player at the moment, he ofcourse would be a great addition to the squad. Having already previously linked up with Cristiano Ronaldo at United, and playing incredibly well together, it would make sense, especially as both players have improved vastly since the days of their partnership. He would also bring in a lot of revenue in terms of shirt sales too, topping the Premier League shirt sales list in the past 20 years, however this would mean many United fans would then have to cash in on that old unwanted shirt.
Liverpool would be very unlikely to sell after only signing Sturridge in January, however having just turned 24, the striker has set the Premier League alight, scoring in all three of Liverpool’s Premier League games this season, and having a great record of scoring 16 goals in 20 games so far for Liverpool.
Again, another Liverpool player, this time being in the form of Raheem Sterling, who has recently been called up to the English national squad. Being only 18 years of age, he has a long, long way to go still, however does show a lot of promise, and could go a long, long way, if he continues to develop himself as a player and a person. The tricky winger has already come up against some hard-hitting defenders in the past few seasons at Liverpool, so if he improves on his strength too, he could potentially become a big threat in La Liga.
The Arsenal captain, I feel, would be another great signing for the future, and has already marked his place amongst the England squad, despite players such as Gerrard, Lampard, Carrick etc fighting for the same spots. The best part of Wilshere’s game is his competitiveness and passion, and would fully embrace the spirit in matches such as El Clasico and the Madrid derby.
Potentially an eyebrow raiser amongst the list, however the Swansea centre back would provide brilliant cover for Pepe, Varane and Ramos. Gareth Bale’s international teammate is known for his no-nonsense defending, out-muscling most strikers, whilst being a reliable rock at the back for every player around him, hence why Arsenal have been after him for the past few transfer windows.
